Hello everyone. This is my second post so that I can access the manuals. My nephew has driven my 1952 Cub and it has had a few problems. I have not even had a chance to use it.The biggest problem now is with the belly mower attaching to the tractor itself. One the back of the tractor there is a bar with a hook that goes over a bolt and then a u shape something that slides up into an bolt. Of course being a little old lady and not owning a tractor for 40 years, I don't know what to call these parts so I need to get into manual. Once there, I will be able to find out if this bar thing can be replaced with one from another old tractor, since the holes for the bolts that hold the u shaped piece in place have been striped. Now I cannot use the belly mower, because it won't stay attached and the belt comes off. Currently I plan to take off the belly mower and put the cultivators back on and just leave them on, but at some point, I would like to be able to use the mower. I know ya'll cannot help right now since I can't be clear about what I am talking about not knowing the terminology, but hopefully I'l be able to ask questions after I get in those manuals. Thanks to all.

Welcome to the Forum. Are there any labels on the mower such as IH, Danco, Woods, etc.? In the PDF manuals you can find pictures of mowers and once identified, it will be easier to help you fix yours.

Hi,
Below is the 1955 Cub owner's manual. It has much info about operation, maintenance, and lubrication. The experts on here recommend reading it. There is a table of contents on page 1.

Below is the Cub 144 Cultivator owner's manual, if you need it. I don't know which cultivator you have, there are others also. The manual has lots of info. :)

Welcome!

Take some time and read through a few threads to acquaint yourself with the Forum:

Might also enjoy reading through this thread: What to do with a Cub you just brought home

Take some pictures of your tractor and post them. We’d like to see it.

Glad you joined us.

Welcome! As BullDawg mentioned, pictures are a thousand words. When you get familiar with how to post pictures of the parts you are talking about, that would be great! Besides, we like to see the tractors too!
If you own 1 tractor you have a interest
If you own 2 tractors you have a hobby
If you own 3 tractors you have an addiction
Anything over that..well your incurable!

I wonder if she is talking about the drawbar and brackets where they bolt to the finals?

Stripped bolt thread holes can be repaired. Check helicoil or thread insert repairs.
