Bought my first cub last Thursday, SN 235171 J , so should be a 1970. Deluxe seat and fast hitch. Came with C3 mower, L 38 disk, L F194 plow and grader/snow blade. Needs a little TLC. So far fixed sloppy floppy shift lever and stuck left brake linkage. Have the hood of now as I need to rewire, because wire insulation is crumbling to dust. I will do general maintenance and tune up while the hood is off. None of this is completely new to me as I have had a 49 Farmall C for many years.
Hope to take advantage of experience and wisdom here on this forum.

Re: bought my first cub
Hi,
Welcome to the website.
Below is the 1965 Cub owner's manual. The experts on here recommend that people read it. It has lots of info about operation, maintenance, and lubrication. There is a table of contents on page 1.
IH did not make a new manual every year, they have said on here, a 1965 and a 1970 Cub are basically the same. This is the manual closest to 1970, in the group of manuals I looked in.
It has pics of how the Cub originally looked, if you need that info.
The manual is made with 6 volt, and 12 volt info in it, the 6 volt info is for Cubs made before 1964.
Disregard the 6 volt info, a 1970 Cub has the factory 12 volt system.

Bill, I'll try to post some pictures when I get everything back together. Bob, I'm going to start a new thread with a question soon. Glen, thanks for the link to the manual, it helped already.
