Howard Despeeder
I am trying to replace the bearing on the shaft of the despeeder but I can’t figure out how to get the shaft and plate it is connected to out of the housing. Do I take the front off of the housing or am I just missing something.

Re: Howard Despeeder
I don't have a despeeder, but there is an expanded view in the PDF manuals. Click on "OEM implement and attachment manuals" near the bottom of the list. You can then find parts and operating manuals for Howard.

I took mine apart to replace that same bearing, and remeber it was interesting, but that was 15+ years ago and I do not remember much of it.

Re: Howard Despeeder
When I looked at the manual for the despeeder it doesn’t say anything about how to take it apart, when looking at the breakdown picture it shows the Front off of the case. I would assum that that would mean it is supposed to come off. Would that be a good assumption or out to lunch.

Got it all figuered out. The front comes off with a few taps and all was easy after that. So if you guys have any questions about rebuilding a despeeder let me know. Easy

Re: Howard Despeeder
I have such a bad memory that I don't remember much about it other than it it was a sealed bearing on the side next to a transmission.
