Sorry, but the pic is too small to see clearly.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

I agree Barnyard, but I will risk the trip after some good convos with the current owners. It is available for a very good price. This tractor was on this forum a while back, one of the MO members posted about it, I think the lack of info and tiny pic in the CL ad is why it hasn't sold. I finally did the email response and got a call.
It sounds good, I will know more tomorrow. I cant tell if it has front weights or not, or if it has rears, but I am told it has weights, and some new knives i think for the cutterbar. I cant see a drawbar but am told the gent that owned it before used to pull hay rides. it does have a "gravel pushing blade" I am told. Tires are holding air. I see headlights and a rockshaft. The sickle mower being mounted is hopefully indicating it has the pulley on the PTO. if its not what I hope it is I can offer a little less or come home empty. I hate coming home with an empty trailer though :P

Yes, defeat has many faces. But we're confident you'll prove the victor in this. We wish you all the best.

Let us know what happens and attach some BIGGER pictures if you bring it home!

Best of luck in your hunt. Hopefully everything will go well for you and the tractor will be in good condition. You NEED another 50' Cub to replace old Bugeyes! Maybe you would do an eye transplant and reincarnate bugeyes in a this tractor??? Keep us posted!

well, good news n bad news, the tractor came home with me but what was a good deal turned sour once it was on the trailer and money had changed hands and no refund or partial refund was offered after parts began to fall off the tractor and onto the trailer deck. both caps on the touch control were broken and fell off in pieces due to some shade tree depth cable on the blade mounts. The guy said, "I am sorry bout that happening to YOUR tarctor..." it was broken before, just hadnt fallen apart yet, casting breaks were saturated with oil. That pic was taken VERY long time ago!! After some fiddling to get gas to the carb it started and doesn't smoke too much, brakes are poor and the TC was working. its a lil busted now, front tires are nothing, rears are very nice and match, sheet metal is good,

sickle mower pulley is way worn and maybe the pto shaft will be as well. I think the sickle may be a 5ft model, will check that tomorrow. The pitman arm is broken. No guards for the mower. PTO works. It has A or 140 rear wheel weights on it. no front weights. oh and another good thing, the THE BOLSTER SEEMS TO have NO WELDS or CRACKS! Imagine that! It is NOT charging and has very low oil pressure but it has a little, its still 6 volt and the front headlights work in dim and bright, the light switch works, the rear is there but does not work and has a cracked lens. it would have been a nice deal, now it is worth what i have in it but not such a great deal, I may graft the butt from old bug eyes to it and be done. but if this is a fairly original unit I may fix it and keep it intact. it starts n runs pretty nice. It has a drawbar and lots of correct IH and dot marked implement mounting bolts bolts. Radiator looks good through the screen grill

tractor is a 1951

the bug eyes are currently on the 55 cub, not wired yet, it needs some carb work.

I know you are disappointed the tractor wasn't as pictured in your mind, but to me that's the chance anyone takes with going by one small picture and a verbal description. I know this may sound harsh to you, I don't mean it that way, but if the money had already changed hands it WAS your tractor. You had an opportunity to look it over and when you realized the picture was not a recent one look it over more carefully. That's when you negotiate, not after you've paid for it and loaded it. At what point does the seller no longer have a "warranty" responsibility? the end of his driveway? halfway home? a week later? a month later? With a cash deal to me it's when you shake hands and hand over the cash, and it's as is, where is.

Use this as the lesson it was, one that many of us (myself included) have experienced. Don't let your emotions or excitement control a business deal.

I made the decision to buy it, but I am not talking about the appearance. Perhaps my order of the post was confusing. I did not make a fuss, i chained it down and brought it home. its the broken [parts falling off it :P, parts that didn't fall of until i dropped the blade once it was loaded. its a done deal and its home and offloaded, I am seeking parts to fix it. The lesson learned was a homemade cable stop to keep the blade up caused breakage.

if i had sold this tractor and it began to fall apart due to no fault of the buyer I would have offered some money back. but that's me. A s I said, "now it is worth what i have in it but not such a great deal". I am not complaining, I am just telling the story as it unfolded

to be clear I mean that if it started breaking apart simply from loading it, you know before it left the place. not next week, this aint my first rodeo. I have been buying and selling for 40 years

Worst case, use it to fix up "Ol Bugeyes".
Waking up the ol' Cub

Nah, it's not leaking oil. It's just marking it's territory.

Sorry to hear that the relationship went south at the end. That's not good. At least you got another Cub out of the whole deal that isn't entirely falling apart. At least you got a non-welded bolster and a good radiator on it. You are more ahead of the game now, than you were with ole' Bugeyes.

Got er home!
Fastest speed they go is riding on a trailer.

You're in business for building a Cub up. Congrats.
Cubs with nothing wrong sell for a premium around here.....Heck ,some do with plenty wrong.
Used parts ain't cheap either ,so if it's anywhere near similar by you ,you'll be alright if your price felt right for the parts you can use alone.
