Plow Questions
I have a few questions regarding Cub plows. I found a guy local who has three plows for Cubs. I think they are 193 plows. He has offered a plow with handle for $125. I really don't need one, but it sounds like a very good price. If I have a Cub, might as well have some implements. I will have to "dig" them out from the weeds to get a look at them. What should I look for that is commonly missing and broke. I have zero knowledge on plows. They do have the springs on them near the hitch.

Re: Plow Questions
Hi,
Below is the Cub 193 Plow owner's manual, it has lots of info. I would read it before buying a plow.
http://farmallcub.com/rudi_cub/www.clea ... index.html
Below are pics from TM Tractor of a 193 Plow mounted on a Cub. You have to have the lever to the right of the seat also. It is shown some at the bottom of the page, it has a quadrant also, they don't really show that. I think it is in the owner's manual above.
Not all 193 plows have the chain on the right side, that goes to the lever bracket, some do, and some don't.

Re: Plow Questions
The pictures Glen linked on the TM Tractor site are very informative for you. A complete plow set up will have everything pictured that isn't red, plus the lift chain that is red in the pictures. In addition it may have an optional jointer which looks like a tiny plow attached to the coulter or clamped to the beam. Chain is easily replaced so don't get hung up on that.
It seems plows on craigslist are frequently missing the depth control lever, linkage and draw bar eye. My guess is those parts tend to stay on the tractor when it gets separated from the plow. It looks to me like a depth control lever with linkage and eye is often worth more than the rest of the plow.
If he's offering a decent condition complete set up for $125 I'd call it a super deal.

Re: Plow Questions
125 for plow and depth lever I would jump on it even if a few pieces missing or broke. Dog bone is typically gone or bent. Also the eye bolt in drawbar is gone but easily made. Lift chain is simple. Get a short piece of chain and hook to rear lift. Don't pass that up.
