Well ..... See what had happened was......lol
Upon looking for random parts I stumbled across this gem. Looks like there will be yet another cub in the ever growing family lol. It also comes with - Mott flail mower, sickle bar mower, angle blade and I believe a rotary tiller.... It's been in one family it's entire life. It was running about 8 months ago.... they say.....we shall see when I pick it up.( for a ultra low price) hope it's a good one

Glen wrote:Hi,
The Cubs are supposed to have a 35 psi maximum pressure oiling system.
Below is a page from the Cub service manual showing it, towards the bottom of the page.

The oil gauge could be reading wrong, you could put in another gauge and see what it reads, to test it.
Or the pressure relief valve could be stuck, or have the wrong spring, etc.
Below is a page from the Cub parts manual showing the oil pressure regulator parts. They are numbers 1, 2, 3, and 4 in the pic, on the right side of the page.

http://www.farmallcub.info/manuals/cub_ ... 012-19.jpg

I have read on here that the valve, number 1 in the pic, can get tight in the bore, then it needs freeing, so it moves freely.
The parts are located at the right front of the engine, and the part you see is a large hex head plug. You probably need to remove the top bolt that holds the front on the Cub to get the plug out.

Turns out the "test" gauge I tried was indeed way off!! Lol. I purchased a new oil gauge with the copper line and will be mounting it to the panel where the light switch used to live.(it's rusted on bottom side so I clean cut a hole just big enough for the gauge)
Anywho there is 37 psi(cold) upon warm up it very slowly drops to about 25-27 psi both measurements were taken at idle rpm I'm guessing around 5-700 rpm

I have a few of the Bush Hog mowers if you need any help working on them......I should be able to look at mine as good reference on how things go together and what is original or not.

I read these threads, soak up the pics and info like a sponge! I went from ole bugeyes to having 4 plus the 140. I just LOVE these lil tractors. If i had more money and more room I think I would give Barnyard a run for his money :P. I dont think you can own too many!

congrats on the new cubby, looking forward to see all the goodies you got with it! "2cubguy" ;)
