Re: Year?
Very possible. What is the tractor serial number?
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Re: Year?
It doesn’t have a serial plate on the steering box. Actually looks like it never had one?

Re: Year?
Hi,
You could look at more casting codes, and see what years the parts were made.
Below is info from TM Tractor showing where the casting codes are, and how to read them.
The code on the clutch housing is usually partly behind the clutch pedal.
http://www.tmtractor.com/id/castdate_loc.htm
http://www.tmtractor.com/id/id_004.htm
There is also an engine serial number. Below is a page from the 1950 Cub owner's manual showing where it is. It is stamped in the block. You may have to clean it, and use a good light to see it.
The number is not the same as the tractor serial number, it is some different. If the engine has been replaced, the number could be a lot different.

Re: Year?
The engine also has a serial number. http://www.tmtractor.com/id/id_003.htm
You can use the Cub database viewtopic.php?f=1&t=87029 to estimate the year of the engine and see if that year agrees with the casting codes.
That is how I found out my 1948 Cub with a IH1000 loader had an engine from 1961 donor Cub.

When you only have 9 horsepower you need to know the names of all of the ponies!
