Spindle Question

Postby lyle11 » Wed May 02, 2018 3:19 pm

I am planning to rebuild my spindles. On one the ridge that the felt fits over is rusted and eroded. There is enough raised area left to keep the seal in place. The other areas look good to me so I am thinking this spindle is worth rebuilding. I can get a good used Lowboy spindle for $30 from JP.

I figured now is the time to ask. Is the condition of the inner ridge a concern?

Thanks

I agree with Tim and also with a new seal and full of new grease there won’t be much chance of water or dirt getting in.
