I recently bought a 193 plow. The share had a groove in it that I assumed was where someone had welded it with soft material and it wore away.
I removed the share which is a chilled share. The back shows no sign of damage or repair. On closer inspection I see this:
There is a small ridge at the bottom like a mountain range.
Only thing I can figure is this was a manufacturing defect. The face of the share chilled before closing the gap and the last of the iron going into the mold made that little ridge.
Anyone ever see one like this before?

I have never seen that before either. I was wondering what the back looked like till you said it looked normal. I would say it was the pouring/molding process as you mentioned. Wonder if you could return it under warranty?
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!

It's got an IH part number and logo on back so it's not some cheap knock off. Apparently it left the factory and was sold retail that way.....
Share has some wear on it so it's been used like that.

It's a track from one of those iron worms that works under the bark.

Similar to the polyestermites that play havoc with fiberglas.
