Have you changed the oil/filter after adding the Seafoam? If not the diluted oil is now a lot easier to splash out the fill tube because the Seafoam makes it a lot thinner.

Do you have a long or short style dip stick , it need to match the tube. Also clean the dip stick breather you can claer it with kerosene, and even replace the mesh pull it out with a little hock and it can be replaced by tamping in anew mesh . I use a copper mesh .

Oil cap is in all the way. Oil level is on full mark. I believe the rings are so bad or broke that most of the compression is going to the oil pan.

Take a look at the inside of the cap. There are, I think, two flat "tabs" that press against the inside of the filler tube. If they are too tight, they may be keeping you from getting the cap all the way down. If they are too loose, they will not hold the cap in as tightly as it should be.
Worth a look. :big give up:

Do you have an early style, 47 and early 48 s did not have a disk on the stick .I don't know if that makes a difference or not but it may help with excess leakage.

No serial number plate on cub but all other numbers lean towards 48. No disk on dip stick, but a disk would surely help.
