2nd issue is that even if Rick could pour most of the aluminum, there has to be some left in the crucible.
Actually I covered that thought. I didn't just do a one time calculation. It took several tries to dial things in. I started with an inch in the crucible, measured with a steel rod, pour two castings and measure again. If there was more than an inch, start over and subtract a couple cans, less do the opposite. After several attempts things locked in at 175. I melted a lot of cans that day, a bunch of set down time on the stool :hattip:

Assume : Weight of cans in truck = 1000 lbs; Finished wt of both wedges = 7 lbs; "Dross" = 10%

1000 lbs / 7 lbs = 143 times 90% = 128 sets of wedges
