Most people use a Voltmeter with a 12v conversion.

I used the original amp gage after converting my Farmall H from 6 to 12 volts. It has a 63 amp Delco 10SI single wire alternator. It may peg the gage if the battery is down but then it settles above 0. Works good so far. I wanted it to look original.

That kinda what i though. I knew that 6v was supposed draw more amps than 12 i figured the gage wouldnt care lol. Dose anyone have an idea on what to do about hocking up the light swich? And the resistor on the swich?

Put the resistor inline before the coil if using 6 volt coil. If using a 12 volt coil it can go after the coil and before the distributor. It needs to protect the points.

I left the amp gage, changed the light bulbs and coil. That was 12 years ago and 350 hours ago.

If you use a 12v coil with internal resistor, external resistor is not necessary and may make starting difficult.

When the 12 volt conversion was done to mine, the amp gauge was showing a charge when discharging and a discharge when when charging. I swapped the leads to it and it started showing correctly, but only a charge. it hasn't shown a discharge since. I figure the original problem was from the change from positive to negative ground.

I've left it there as it's original and kinda works. But I do have a digital voltmeter setup on it now that's part of the hidden usb charger setup.

Nah, it's not leaking oil. It's just marking it's territory.

During the "wakeup", I was having low voltage at the coil and almost no spark. I replaced my old coil and ballast set up with an internal resister coil and it's all fine now.

The resistors i was talking about was actually the ones on the light switch. I guess what i actually need is a wiring semantics for the lights switch. I want to keep it as original as possible. My lights has actually never worked sence i had it and i was wanting to get the lights rebuilt and them all working.
