That was a monumental task, even if they weren't boxed. I would expect a lot of companies to not bother and let the customers weed them out. Once they decided to do it, after checking the first hundred or so and finding maybe 1 bad one, the temptation to blow it off would be pretty strong.

I'd say that a supplier that was willing to check that much inventory and report the findings is a responsible seller who deserves my business. JMHO

I have now heard back from the supplier. I neglected to report in my first post that my two bad condensers were purchased more than one year apart. The supplier has checked their inventory of approximately 500 condensers and found 3 bad ones (less than 1%). While it is not acceptable to deliver any defective parts, this is not a problem out of control.

My report was not made to throw a supplier under the bus, but rather, to suggest a very simple check to anyone using a new condenser before they also spent hours chasing down a similar issue.

In today's society we have way too many people ready to "cancel" anyone or any group that doesn't suit them. This supplier is reputable and sells good quality parts at reasonable prices to continue to support our antique tractor habit. For that reason I have chosen not to identify them as a "bad" supplier to be avoided. I feel this problem has been identified and is under control. Thanks for your patience and understanding.

They really tested 500 condensers!!!!!!

For my Yanmar tractor there are few suppliers for parts. Even fewer who have new pards made up and manufactured for them. I got two defective three point valves from them. I believe in that company and there the first to get my business because of their customer service. But you better bet when I had the problem I put it out on a forum...one their a sponsor of and know that they read...why, because it was a legit issue that I had happen to me. I wanted others to be aware of it and that they might not be crazy if the issue didn't fix their problem and had enough sense to know what there doing to know the part was bad...if not they might be chasing rainbows. BUT the supplier worked with me, through the issue. Many emails about trouble shooting etc and what I found as I was confident the part was bad the second time. He was almost confident it couldn't be but was like there is a chance. Now maybe I was the unlucky guy who got two bad valves with unrelated problems out of a 200 lot of something...I have that luck. But like he said it came from a factory in India and they have questionable QC. They like I said worked with me and made it right, in the end he ended up having a good used OEM Yanmar one, which he didn't when I bought the aftermarket one. I said I will take my luck with the 40 year old used japanese part vs the new part. Glad I did. He was glad I was happy and I hope I got the only bad two for his sake. They made it right by me and I fully made that known during the whole process on the forum. To me it's not just about what a seller does when things are good but when there bad. I call a spade for a spade. It all is known good or bad and when bad it's how they handle it. Customers need to know that as well it makes them feel better in case they get the inevitable bad part.

Just wanted to add a plug for Rick. It was my magneto that he was working on. Rick went above and beyond to get to the root of the problem and I would have probably thrown in the towel long before. I can't say enough good things about Rick and the service he provided. It is really appreciated and getting rare in todays world. Thanks again Rick!
