They are out there but getting harder to find. This is on a recent one I picked up from a second owner.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

I'm not sure if "safety wire" is the right term, but it prevents a Cub owner from adjusting the governor. Adjustments were supposed to only be done by IH mechanics.

Hi,
The wire and seal are on the high speed adjustment bolt, I think so the dealer could see if someone had tampered with the adjustment, when the tractor was brought in for service.

Mine was intact on my 1948 until just a few years ago when I had problems with the govenor. I had been told by my dad growing up that the govenor was an IH mechanic only area and was scared when I actually had to pull it off to make repairs.
Why is there never enough time to do the job right, but always enough time to do it over.
