Carry-all

Postby ajhbike » Sat Apr 22, 2017 8:31 pm

I just finished putting on my pallet forks....braced, welded, and connected. The drawbar is pivoting on the pins and the forks are connected with brackets/pins at the bottom corners. I put a couple of angle pieces together and drilled them out for a pin at the top of the forks. I have a rockshaft Tee bar and I attached a couple of steel plates on the Tee bar bolts to make a top link pin. Top link pin to the pin at the top of the forks via a chain and voila....it doesn't work so hot.

The rockshaft lifter/Tee bar combination is almost vertical over the fork top pic and as I lift, the forks tilt down coming up until about 2/3's of the way up and then they pick up to horizontal. The solution seems to be to keep tension on the top of the forks from further up the rockshaft lifter (more towards the seat). OR

Has anyone ever mounted their drawbar on the rear bolt rather than the pin to move the drawbar towards the rear? This would remove the issue of having to overcome the vertical issue and hopefully allow the forks to lift up at worst horizontal and at best slightly tilted back. Negatives, issues, cautions?
(wished I could figure out how to attach a picture....)

I'm not exactly sure I understand what you are trying to do but it sounds like a "forklift". Pictures will definitely help.

Let me reset here...I have a rockshaft lifter with the cross Tee bar. I want to put a 3 point hitch on that but I believe i need a top link to connect to the top link pin on the 3 point hitch. I also need lift arms that I assume i need to connect to the final drive housing above the drawbar bracket. I believe I need to lift the arms with the cross Tee bar of the rockshaft assembly. But I need a top link to keep the 3 point controlled as it lifts. Where would a top link attach to the cub???? Hopefully clearer....hard to describe...all these terms I am learning

This is for yard work, not heavy duty...maybe carryall box/rear bucket.

Perfect, I get it. One of my problems was that i didn't have it far enough back so I was lifting more vertical as opposed to an arc. Many thanks
