Oh just some quick advice with a small issue I had with installing, since your getting all parts together to bring to Maine, bring a few extra bolts and washers, I had to replace the bolt that attaches the bottom of the alternator to bracket, bolt was too short that came with bracket kit, I also replaced bolt on top bracket to where it mounts to the cooling neck, had to add a couple of washers behind bracket to line everything up... good luck with upgrade. TY That's a great idea. To go to the hardware store kills 2 hours of the day.

Wow... Glad I took that one picture... Was just looking at it and thought I missed a grease fitting.. After closer inspection, I never hooked up breather tube to block, still had my temp plug in it

One more thing, just to be on safe side, might want to bring a tap and die set, drill and grinder, the bolt snapped on my cooling tube when I was removing old bracket, had to grind it flush, drill it out and re-thread it

Nope .. Drilled and tapped it right in place, mind you I did have the hood off and front end detached while I was doing that, I was doing this while restoring her, so you might have to remove cooling tube if bolt snaps, soak bolt on tube good day before you attempt, I would definitely at least remove the hood while doing the conversion, would make it easy access to bolts and rewiring. Just looking at mine right now, depending on condition of your hose, if you have to remove cooling tube, the hose might need to be cut off (sometimes I'm lucky and pry up end of an older hose and spay some lubricant under and wiggle it off)... Might want to bring a spare with you, your luck might be better than mine and bolt will come right off with no issues. My luck...it would snap on me and be a cold rainy day :?

Oh and on the rewiring, I put disconnects on the wires feeding the headlights, so whenever I have to remove hood, I just un-plug them, you can actually see the wire ends in the one picture above, (had to take hood off today, sprung a leak in radiator, my luck lol)

I converted a gm 10si to a one wire and used the 105amp stator. I want to use the airport runway lights for headlites.
I'm technically misunderstood at times i guess its been this way my whole life so why should it change now.

This is the belt on mine, might want the next size down, mine is a bit big, no room for adjustment, auto part store didn't have the size in stock I wanted, I went with this because I wanted to get her back together.... pic a little blurry. It's a dayco L424 48x240 on mine which is too big

Mine was to long, it fits but no room for adjustment, width was perfect for me, I believe my old one was 22" which wouldn't make it on, just short, if they make a 23", it would fit perfect on mine.... keep in mind, I don't know if it makes a difference, yours might be a little different then mine, remember I had trouble fitting the alternator on lower bracket, I had to spread it a bit.. then had to add washers to top bracket to line it up, so that might have thrown mine off a bit, do a test, see if it slides into bottom bracket smoothly, you might not have to do the adjustments I did and you might be ok with the 22"
