Just remember the numbered lowboys don't have the pilot bushing hole in the rear (I'm pretty sure that's right).

Re: ? Crankshafts c 60
I have healed very quickly and have been blessed , I am back to the way I was before accident by about 90% ? After the accident I was at the University Of Virginia hospital for 8 day part of that in Critical care. Then I was moved to Bridgewater Va. Nursing home/therapy unit for 6 weeks before coming home . I did out patient therapy for several weeks and am have been released by all of my doctors except the spinal cord specialist, I go back to him Feb. 2nd . Those who come to DSCF can hear my sad story first hand. I only ask for a little sympathy ( and probably will get very little). Can't say I ever was normal so you probably noticed I did not say that !

Re: ? Crankshafts c 60
If I recall correctly, some of the later cranks had a different size rod bearing corresponding to the different connecting rod part number. Main bearings are the same. Frank

Berlin, engine serial #261717 and below have the same crank. Engine serial #261718 and above used a different crank.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Re: ? Crankshafts c 60
Th rod journals on the later crankshafts were not relieved enough to accept the wide rod bearings. So you have to be careful which rods you use - narrow or wide bearings.
need to check for pilot bushing hole, as SOME of the numbered lowboy engines were not drilled. Additionally on the lowboys, you have to check the keyway for the front pulley carefully. many of them are wallered out because the big pulley used on these engines has a lot of rotational mass and they did not fit as tightly as the regular cub pulleys, allowing them to shuck back and forth.
Real glad you are recovering!
