Stuck Radiator Drain Plug

I was trying to drain and flush the radiator on my 1949 Cub and man that drain plug is stuck tight.

I have tapped, pounded, sprayed Liquid Wrench, heated with a propane torch and no luck. I have grabbed it tight with vise grips to try and get it to move with no luck.

I'd sure appreciate any advice, comments or tips from anyone.

The drain plug on Ellie was all mashed to uselessness and froze tight in the casing.

We tried heat, vise grips, stick welder and nothing worked. As I said in my post - That Special Feeling, we finally were able to weld a nut to the damaged plug with a MIG welder.

A judicious tap or two and a little elbow grease with a pair of vise grips and presto pop off it came. It is a little difficult welding upside down, but it is doable.

Try that - should work
